{"id":8365,"date":"2023-12-18T22:31:57","date_gmt":"2023-12-18T21:31:57","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/klima-fakten.net\/?p=8365"},"modified":"2024-04-22T21:16:01","modified_gmt":"2024-04-22T20:16:01","slug":"invariance-of-natural-co2-sources-and-sinks-regarding-long-time-temperatur-trend","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/klima-fakten.net\/?p=8365&lang=en","title":{"rendered":"Invariance of natural CO2 sources and sinks regarding long time temperatur trend"},"content":{"rendered":"<div class=\"pdfprnt-buttons pdfprnt-buttons-post pdfprnt-top-right\"><a href=\"https:\/\/klima-fakten.net\/index.php?rest_route=wpv2posts8365&print=print\" class=\"pdfprnt-button pdfprnt-button-print\" target=\"_blank\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/klima-fakten.net\/wp-content\/plugins\/pdf-print\/images\/print.png\" alt=\"image_print\" title=\"Inhalt drucken\" \/><\/a><\/div>\n\n\n<p>In the simple model of CO<sub>2<\/sub> sinks and natural emission<a href=\"https:\/\/klima-fakten.net\/?p=7740\">s published in this blog<\/a> and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.epochtimes.de\/meinung\/gastkommentar\/wir-koennen-weiterleben-ohne-sorgen-um-co2-und-netto-null-a4314374.html?utm_source=influencer&amp;utm_medium=all&amp;utm_campaign=joadengl\">elsewhere<\/a>, the question repeatedly arose in the discussion: How is the &#8212; obvious &#8212; temperature dependence of natural CO<sub>2<\/sub> sources, for example the outgassing oceans, or sinks such as photosynthesis, taken into account? This is because the model does not include any long-term temperature dependence, only a short-term cyclical dependence. A long-term trend in temperature dependence over the last 70 years is not discernible even after careful analysis.<br>In the <a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/2073-4433\/14\/3\/566\">underlying publication<\/a>, it was ruled out that the absorption coefficient could be temperature-dependent (Section 2.5.3). However, it remained unclear whether a direct temperature dependence of the sources or sinks is possible. And why this is not recognizable from the statistical analysis. This is discussed in this article.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Original temperature-independent model<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>The simplified form of CO<sub>2<\/sub> mass conservation in the atmosphere (<a href=\"https:\/\/www.mdpi.com\/2073-4433\/14\/3\/566\">see equations 1,2,3 of the publication<\/a>) with anthropogenic emissions <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/klima-fakten.net\/wp-content\/ql-cache\/quicklatex.com-b98e70028d6515eb74b40aed23681258_l3.png\" class=\"ql-img-inline-formula quicklatex-auto-format\" alt=\"&#69;&#95;&#105;\" title=\"Rendered by QuickLaTeX.com\" height=\"15\" width=\"18\" style=\"vertical-align: -3px;\"\/> in year <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/klima-fakten.net\/wp-content\/ql-cache\/quicklatex.com-695d9d59bd04859c6c99e7feb11daab6_l3.png\" class=\"ql-img-inline-formula quicklatex-auto-format\" alt=\"&#105;\" title=\"Rendered CO<sub>2<\/sub> in the atmosphere <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/klima-fakten.net\/wp-content\/ql-cache\/quicklatex.com-e8306907fd3a0ee7377e7e45fe2cc512_l3.png\" of constant natural emissions appears arbitrary. A slight smoothing results in a periodic curve. Roy Spencer has attributed these fluctuations to the El Nino, although it is not clear whether the fluctuations are attributable to the absorptions <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/klima-fakten.net\/wp-content\/ql-cache\/quicklatex.com-9b2fc00fdf5801d2a26d74229875eda9_l3.png\" class=\"ql-img-inline-formula quicklatex-auto-format\" alt=\"&#65;&#95;&#105;\" title=\"Rendered by QuickLaTeX.com\" height=\"16\" width=\"18\" style=\"vertical-align: -3px;\"\/> or the natural emissions <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/klima-fakten.net\/wp-content\/ql-cache\/quicklatex.com-d758eba99052cf45dd4bfe82f5073660_l3.png\" class=\"ql-img-inline-formula quicklatex-auto-format\" alt=\"&#78;&#95;&#105;\" title=\"Rendered by QuickLaTeX.com\" height=\"15\" width=\"19\" style=\"vertical-align: -3px;\"\/>. But no long-term trend is discernible. Therefore, the question must be clarified as to why short-term temperature dependencies are present, but long-term global warming does not appear to have any correspondence in the model.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h4 class=\"wp-block-heading\">Temperature-dependent model<\/h4>\n\n\n\n<p>We now extend the model by additionally allowing a linear temperature dependence for both the absorptions <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/klima-fakten.net\/wp-content\/ql-cache\/quicklatex.com-9b2fc00fdf5801d2a26d74229875eda9_l3.png\" class=\"ql-img-inline-formula quicklatex-auto-format\" alt=\"&#65;&#95;&#105;\" title=\"Rendered by QuickLaTeX.com\" height=\"16\" width=\"18\" style=\"vertical-align: -3px;\"\/> and the other emissions <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/klima-fakten.net\/wp-content\/ql-cache\/quicklatex.com-d758eba99052cf45dd4bfe82f5073660_l3.png\" class=\"ql-img-inline-formula quicklatex-auto-format\" alt=\"&#78;&#95;&#105;\" title=\"Rendered by QuickLaTeX.com\" height=\"15\" width=\"19\" style=\"vertical-align: -3px;\"\/>. Where this correlation comes from, i.e. whether there is a causal relationship (and in which direction) is irrelevant for this study. However, we are not establishing the correlation between <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/klima-fakten.net\/wp-content\/ql-cache\/quicklatex.com-f9ed275b0bf1633b7ee83b78fcc28273_l3.png\" class=\"ql-img-inline-formula quicklatex-auto-format\" alt=\"&#84;\" title=\"Rendered by QuickLaTeX.com\" height=\"12\" width=\"13\" style=\"vertical-align: 0px;\"\/> and <img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\"
